Siem Reap: The 17th Cambodian Products, Fruits and Vegetables Exhibition kicked off on Thursday, February 22nd, with a grand opening ceremony. Held in conjunction with a campaign promoting weaving and Cambodian silk products, the event aims to showcase the country's diverse agricultural and artisanal offerings.

The event also launched a significant campaign aimed at promoting the weaving and use of Cambodian silk products. The ceremony saw the participation of Mao Thora, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, alongside CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, other ministry leaders, and Kheng Darasy, a member of the Siem Reap Provincial Council. The gathering attracted about 300 attendees, including representatives from relevant departments, producers, businessmen, farmers, and students.

Spanning four days, from February 22 to 25, 2024, the exhibition has drawn a considerable crowd, including businessmen, producers, suppliers, processors, and farm owners from 16 provinces and cities across Cambodia. The event showcased a wide array of Cambodian products such as fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, rice, cashew nuts, pepper, cassava, souvenirs, and silk products. With a total of 113 companies and enterprises participating, the exhibition provided 125 booths for showcasing products and facilitating business partnerships.

The exhibition was more than just a marketplace; it was a cultural celebration. Attendees were treated to a variety of events, including a campaign to promote weaving and the use of Cambodian silk products, a fashion show featuring Khmer silk products, performances of Khmer's drum music, circus acts, and a giant puppets parade leading to the exhibition venue. These accompanying events highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Cambodia and aimed to foster a deeper appreciation and understanding of traditional Cambodian craftsmanship, particularly in silk weaving.

This significant event not only served as a platform for local producers and businesses to showcase their products but also played a crucial role in promoting Cambodian culture and heritage. Through the exhibition and its associated events, Siem Reap once again demonstrated its capacity to be a focal point for cultural and economic activities, contributing to the promotion of local products and the preservation of traditional crafts.
